A
compulsory 3-lecture course that involves fundamentals of inorganic
chemistry. The course starts with semiquantitative quantum theory and
its application to atomic structure. Periodic properties, molecular
shapes & chemical bonding theories (Valence Shell Electron Pair
Repulsion Theory, Valence Bond Theory and Molecular Orbital Theory) are
rigorously treated. Molecular Symmetry, acid/base chemistry and solid
state chemistry are also rigorously involved.Credit Hours: 3
