Course Description |
The course gives an overview of plant structure, growth, transport and regulatory mechanisms in plants. The other part of this course focuses on animal structure and function. In addition, it will covers animal nutrition, reproduction, development and the regulatory mechanisms in animals including both endocrine and nervous systems.
Course Objectives |
The course is designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of plant and animal biological systems including structural and functional aspects. The course will also provide the students with basic concepts and understanding of regulatory mechanisms that control the biological activities in both plants and animals.

Intended learning Outcomes (ILO’s) and Competences
At the end of this course student will be able to: 1. Describe the distinctive functional features of plant and animal organs. 2. Recognize the different regulatory mechanisms that control plant and animal activities 4. Understand the transport mechanisms in plants and circulation in animals. 5. Be familiar and up to date with theplant and animal growth and development. 6. Construct knowledge about the physiological interaction between different body organs. 7. Recognize plant and animal responses to biological and physical environments. 8. Be prepared for independent, critical study and assessment of biological problems.
