Course overview:

In today’s world, markets have become global and are enhanced by the appropriate use of technology to improve products, processes and services. This course introduces the field of Technology Management and reviews the key issues related to technology management at the firm level. The course main objective is to improve the students’ knowledge and skills related to managing technologies in a firm. It provides an introduction to the concepts and methods in technology and innovation management. 

 

Learning objectives:

  1. To develop an understanding of role of technology in firm’s competitiveness.
  2. To gain an understanding of the risks and rewards involved in a firm’s Innovation process and choice of utilization or non-utilization of technologies.
  3. To recognize the importance technological change and innovation.
  4. To introduce key concepts and tools related to technology forecasting, R&D management and technology roadpmapping.
  5. An additional objective, I would like to encourage the students to stand up for their interpretations of the readings and challenge the tutor or anybody else in the class.
