Course Outline: 

 

Objective: The objective of this course is to introduce the students to the basis and principles of plant propagation both sexual and asexual. The course will focus on the anatomical and morphological basis of  propagation methods. In addition the students will be exposed to the practical aspects of propagation technique.

Lectures: The course is scheduled for two lectures and one Lab. Period

  4. Practices to enhance germination
  5. Vegetative propagation

  8. Factors affecting rooting of plant cuttings
  9. Layering
  10. Specialized structure
  11. Grafting and budding
  12. Micropropagation

EvaluationThere will be two midterm exams worth ( 30 %), in addition to Lab. (30%) and Final exam (40%)
