Course Outline: 

This course aims to integrate theory and practice; consequently, it helps learners to relate the theories of language learning and teaching to classroom practices. Regarding language skills this course also aims to integrate the four language skills and other sub skills and apply them in real classroom practices. This course also introduces the participants to the practical aspects of TEFL including lesson and unit planning, classroom testing, and the description and assessment of classroom interaction. Towards the middle of the course, a weekly session for peer teaching is dedicated during which everyone will take the roles of teacher.

By the end of the semester, Ss will have gained information and developed critical thinking and understanding of the following topics:

1- Providing knowledge of what has been discovered in the field of ESL/EFL teaching/learning.

2- Providing a body of knowledge and methodology, i.e. unit + lesson planning, testing

3- Providing procedures and guidelines for peer teaching.

4- Providing opportunity for practicing and evaluating peer teaching.

5- Examining critically the methodological procedures they have chosen to employ.
