The course will focus on computer applications in several areas of animal production including ration formulation, animal breeding and management of animal records and statistical analysis of data related to animal science as well as searching electronic resources to find literature and applications related to animal science.

Course Objectives

This course is designed to provide the students with training in the use of software and electronic resources in the field of animal production.

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course students should be able to:

1. Use computer to search literature in animal production.

2. Perform some Excel applications on animal production data.

3. Do basic statistical analysis using SPSS.

4. Use available ration formulation software.

5. Manage animal records and calculate inbreeding coefficients
   for a pedigree of animals using available software.
