Preferred Abstract (Original):

This study was aimed at investigating the impact of using concept maps teaching method on immediate and Postponded achievement motive, and self-concept of(10th) grade students in Biology in governmental schools in Jeneen governorate. To answer the questions of the study and test its hypotheses, the researcher conducted this study on subjects of the study consists of (141) males and females in public school in Jeneen. The students of the study were distributed into four sections. Two sections, one for males and one for females, were chosen randomly and these two sections represented the experimental section, the two section were taught by using concept maps, where as the other two section taught according to traditional method.
The tools prepared for the purposes of  this study were applied on the study sample. Data was analyzed by using Multivariate analysis of variance for multi-dependent variables by used Hotelling method to examine the impact of treatment on the dependent variables. variance analysis, and t-test for dependent and independent samples were applied. The study findings were: There were statistical significant differences between each of the following: achievement motive, and self concept of the students means towards Biology, experimental and control group, in favor of experimental. There were no statistical significant differences between each of the following: achievement motive, and self–concept of the students means towards Biology due to time. There were statistical significant differences between each of the following: achievement motive, and self concept means of the students means towards Biology,  due to gender, in favor of  female. In accordance with the findings of this study it was recommended to encourage teachers adopting the concept maps method for its effectiveness, and calls the researchers to conduct further studies concerning with concept maps teaching method.
