Preferred Abstract (Original):
This paper deals with two main topics: Firstly, it studies the evolution of
the Palestinian reform process. The early phases witnessed the growing local
and international pressures calling for urgent and comprehensive reform.
This was followed by initial reform attempts by the PA, but such attempts
were rather limited and insufficient to face the challenges. The second topic
examines the mechanisms of reform to fight administrative, financial, and
economic corruption in the PA. from the perspectives of the ordinary Palestinians.
The study has reached several recommendations in this regard.
This included the establishment of a special agency to fightcorruption
in the public, civil and private institutions, and the establishment of special
courts to deal with corruption.
