This study aims at analyzing the special data concerning the subject of the research "Housing characteristics In the Palestinian Territories "which according to the present concept, the territories refer to those in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, both of which are geographical zones separated by the 1948 Palestinian occupied lands. Several previous studies in various topics showed differences in the data of many characteristics of housing and inhabitants in both zones. Such studies were analyzed and commented on with the aim of explaining the nature of the differences that make up the overwhelming feature of the data of each area. This was done to suggest suitable proposals which eliminate the range of differences between the two above mentioned areas.
The most important characteristics of housing that the study included were: the type of housing, the building material being used in the house ground, the number of the rooms, the average of congestion in the house, the origin of drinking water which is mainly used in it , the drainage disposal method and that which is used inside it also , and finally how many available commodities in the house exist for along time. At the end of the research, the conclusion of the study is clarified.
Under the light of those results, the researcher put forward the recommended solutions so that the differences in the housing characteristics between the two studied zones would be reduced. Gaza Strip and the camps in both zones have received more attention so as to improve the housing characteristics and even out there differences between the west bank and Gaza strip , between the city and the country or the camps , and make conditions get better in harmony.

خصائص المسكن في الأراضي الفلسطينية: دراسة مقارنة بين الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة
 تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل البيانات الخاصة بموضوع البحث، وهو خصائص المسكن في الأراضي الفلسطينية، والمفهوم الحالي لهذه الأراضي يعني الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة، وهما منطقتان جغرافيتان تفصل بينهما مساحة من الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة سنة 1948، ومن خلال العديد من الدراسات السابقة في مواضيع متعددة، تبين أن هناك تفاوتات في بيانات كثير من خصائص السكان والمسكن في هاتين المنطقتين، وقد تناولت هذه الدراسة بيانات كل خاصية من خصائص المسكن في كل منهما، وأجري عليها التحليل والتعليق بهدف تفسير واقع الاختلافات التي تشكل السمة الغالبة على بيانات كل منطقة، وجاء كل ذلك بهدف اقتراح الحلول المناسبة التي من شأنها تقليص مدى الاختلافات بين كل منطقة وأخرى.
 وكان من أبرز خصائص المسكن التي تناولتها الدراسة، نوع المسكن ومادة البناء المستخدمة في أرضية المسكن، وعدد غرف المسكن، ومعدل الازدحام فيه، ومصدر مياه الشرب الرئيس المستخدم في المسكن، ووسيلة التصريف الصحي ووسيلة التصريف المستخدمة فيه أيضا، وأخيراً مدى توفر السلع المعمرة في المسكن، وفي نهاية البحث تم توضيح نتائج الدراسة، وعلى ضوء هذه النتائج تم وضع الحلول التي يأمل الباحث أن يؤخذ بها، حتى يتقلص الكثير من التباينات في خصائص المسكن بين منطقتي الدراسة، وقد تم التأكيد على إيلاء قطاع غزة والمخيمات في كلتا المنطقتين اهتماماً أكثر مما هو عليه، حتى يصبح شكل الانسجام في خصائص المسكن بين الضفة والقطاع وبين الحضر والريف والمخيمات أكثر قبولاً من الواقع الحالي.
