Preferred Abstract (Original):
Effects of several levels of BA and TDZ along with basic and staba vitamins as well as different combinations of TDZ and NAA on shoot proliferation and regeneration of "Honeoye" strawberry, were investigated in vitro. Rate of proliferation was maximum at 1.1 mgl-1 TDZ in presence of staba vitamins and at 1.0 mgl-1 BA in presence of basic or staba vitamins. Optimal root number was obtained at 0.2 mgl-1 NAA, whereas longest roots were produced at 0.1 mgl-1. When acclimatization was performed under transparent plastic and mist conditions, survival of plantlets was 100% compared with other conditions. Leaf discs regenerated shoots only at 2.64 mgl-1 TDZ and 0.5 mgl-1 NAA. Petiole segments, however, were more efficient in shoot regeneration at a wide range of combinations with maximum rate at 0.88 mgl-1 TDZ combined with 0.5 mgl-1 NAA.
