Preferred Abstract (Original):

Kinetic studies have been carried out on the reaction of the perchlorate (Me3Si)3CSiMe2OClO3 with anhydrous methanol. The effects of added NaOMe, LiCl, LiNO3, and NaClO, are consistent with rate-determining ionization of the perchlorate.
