Research Abstract: 

Improving the bandwidth of multilayer PCB line cards in a telecommunications system is reported in this paper. The signal distortion due to frequency dependent attenuation and dispersion is compensated by regenerating the high frequency components of digital pulses using shock wave generation within the NLTL. Operation of the NLTL using conventional Schottky diode technology and using Schottky quantum barrier varactor (SQBV) diodes is discussed and compared.
