The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the rule of verb agreement, with the proponents of relational grammar have alleged to be univesally sensitive to grammatical relations, must be accounted fo'r, not in terms of grammatical relations, but rather in terms of case in Kashrniri, as it is simpler and more economical. And in transformational grammar, simplicity and economy are theoretically significant. |
