Research Abstract:
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the role of ABET quality assurance program for engineering education in
recognizing deficiencies in the educational process. A case study was conducted in one of the largest Engineering Faculties in Palestinian
universities using student surveys, instructors assessment documents, and semi-structured interviews at different administrative levels.
Results show that ABET quality assurance program allowed for the identification of conspicuous deficiencies in terms of students’
attainments, stakeholders’ satisfaction, safety instructions and educational process documentation. The value of this paper is that it
attempts to incorporate the role of ABET as a quality assurance program with revealing educational process deficiencies to promote
stakeholders satisfaction.
