Abstract
The study uses the data collected by the Opnion Polls and Survey Studies
Center at An-Najah National University concernning the villages in Qalqiliya
Distrect. The aim of this study is to analyize the strategies used by the Palestinian
families as a result of the decrease in their income or loss of it. The most common
strategies used by the families to adapt with its new economic situation is using its
savings, delay one of the family’s project, selling or mortgaging a piece of land or a
house, selling a wife’s jewelry, returning to work in agriculture and home economic,
borrowing from relatives, friends and banks, and having humanitarian aids. The main
recommendation of the study is carrying out economic and social policies to limit the
delay in the family projects, to find a continuous job opportunity, and to give an easy
loan to creat investment projects in the Palestinian rural areas.
