Abstract: 

Stress on the Palestinian Woman During Al Aqsa Intifada as a Result of the Israeli Actions in Qalqilia District Master Thesis Submitted by Hasem Al-Shaer Supervised by Dr. Abed Assaf The purpose of this study was to identify the stress imposed on the Palestinian woman during the Intifada. It also aimed at identifying the effects of this intifada according to age, living place, social status, education, job, number of family and monthly income. The population of study consisted of (18397) women from city and village areas in Qalqilia district. All of these women were above 15 years old. The sample of the study consisted of (1000) women. The percentage was about (5.5%) chosen randomly from both city and village populations. The data were obtained by analyzing (988) returnable questionnaires. The researcher studded each domain of the questionnaire determining validity. The reliability of the questionnaire test – retest using test- retest method was (0.85). The questionnaire consisted of (56) item divided equally into five domains: the woman's relationship with herself, here economy, here job, here study and here vision for the future. Data were obtained and analyzed by using the statistical packages for social sciences (SPSS). Results indicated that woman's stress degree in here relationship with the family was (64.2%), economy (58.6%), job (56.36), here mood (56.28%), and with here future vision (65.4%). Results also indicated that there were no significant differences at (α = 0.05) in Psychological stress due to the age, place of residence, marital status, qualification, job, number of family members and salary. Based on the study findings the researcher recommended the following: 1.A special study should be done on psychological stress in the Palestine family after the Intifada events. 2.Attending seminars, lectures and workshops by Palestinian women during the Intifada to reduce stress and tension.
