Abstract: 

This study aimed at investigating the Personality Traits of An-najah National University Students’ in addition to defining the effect of some demographic variables: sex, college, residence, grade point average, father and mother educational level, the family educational style, and the family monthly income. To achieve that, the study was conducted on a sample of (606) male and female students; A scale of Abu Alias’ standard of the Personality Traits which had been prepared in (1983) and included of(75) articles distributed equally on seven domains: capability of enduring obscurity, independence of judgement and thinking, flexibility in thinking, the originality of thinking, contemplative thinking, ability of criticism, opening to experience”; after the achievement of validity and reliability of the study, the questioniare (standard) had been distributed to the students, and data had been collected and statistically and analyzed by using the program of the statistical packages for the social sciences. The study concluded the following results: The results showed that there were no statistical differences at (α=0.05) for all the Personality Traits of An- Najah National University Students attributed to college variable; while there were statistical differences on some features of the character refering to sex, residence, accumulative average, the (farther and mother) educational level, the family educational style, and the family monthly income variable as follows:- 1)There were statistical significant on independence in thinking and judgement Trait between males and females in favor of females. 2)There were statistical significant refering to the variable of accumulative average on the Traits of capability of enduring the obscurity and originality in thinking between the superior and normal students in one side and the week in the other in favor of the superior and normal ones. 3)There were statistical significant concerning the place of living on ability to criticism between the city students and the village ones in favor of the city students. 4)There were statistical significant concerning the variable of the fathers’ learning on the Trait of the contemplative thinking between secondary and basic education in favor of the basic. 5)There were statistical significant refering the variable of the mothers learning on the Trait of the ability to criticism between secondary education level and the basic level in favor of the secondary. 6)There were statistical significant refering the variable of the Family educational style on the Traits of originality in thinking and flexibility in thinking between the democratic educational style and the styles of the tyrannous and uncontrolled educational styles in favor of the democratic style. 7)There were statistical significant concerning the variable of the family monthly income on the Traits of flexibility in thinking and the originality of thinking between those of low income in favor of those of high and medium income on the feature of the flexibility in thinking and those of high and medium income in favor of the high income on the originality of thinking. In the light of the purposes and results of the study, the researcher recommended the following: 1) Necessity for An-Najah National University to take care of developing the characters’ Traits of the students, especially after exposing to the experience who has got the last average among the University students. 2) More interest in improving the domain of the independence of thinking and judgment among the male students because they showed less average than females by introducing suitable topics (subjects). 3) More interest in developing the domain of the independence in thinking and judgment among those students who live in the village, as they showed less average than those who live in the city.
