Abstract: 

This study aimed to identify the degree of applying of strategic planning in education directorate s in the governorates of the West Bank from the employees point of view, in addition the study aimed to test the effect of gender, experience, job title, qualification, and the location of the directorate of education variables on the degree of applying of the strategic planning. The study population consisted of all employees in the directorates of education directorates in the governorates of the West Bank and they were (1190) employees. The study sample consisted of (417) employees, approximately (35%) of the study. To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher prepared a questionnaire based on literature and related studies. The questionnaire validity was achieved by a panel of judges. The reliability coefficient was computed by Cronbach Alpha equation and it was (0.986). The questionnaire was distributed to a stratified random sample. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).The study obtained the following results: First: There is a medium degree of applying of strategic planning in the education directorates in the governorates of the West Bank from the employees point of view. Second: There are significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the degree of applying of strategic planning in education directorates in the governorates of the West Bank, compared with accepted standard in education (3.00) and there are significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the degree of applying of strategic planning in the education directorates in the governorates of the West Bank, due to gender, and in favor of males, and due to job title and in favor of the director of education or his two deputies and due to educational qualification in favor of Master degree and above. Third: There are no significant differences in the significance level (α = 0.05) in the degree of applying of strategic planning in education directorates in the governorates of the West Bank, due to experience and the location of the directorate of education. Accordingly to the findings of the study results, the researcher recommended that: 1.The need to build a culture of strategic planning, and to disseminate it in all directorates of education and schools, to facilitate it’s adoption when it needs to work with strategic planning. 2.The need to train staff in the education directorates on strategic planning skills, and how to prepare strategic plans.
